WHILE I DIGRESS
When I meet a woman down and out
A beautiful woman run aground and worn out
And she smiles and refutes the pain of life
The tie of distress not choking her down
And if she sings the song of gladness
And happiness follows her shadow
And if she talks with her head held up high
Her neck above the icy cold water
The wet dress of happiness flowing around her
I will let her dreams be my dream
I will drown my sorrow in her happiness pool
Her tools of life will fix me up
And so I will wear that dress with her
So excuse me while I now slowly digress
While I now boldly address,
Excuse me while I talk to the beautiful woman
The woman of my dreams
